1. Name the wartime turbojet engine that was considered a country's most successful jet engine (at the time), yet the interval before the engine's first scheduled overhaul was no more than 35 operational hours! (I am NOT making this up!)

2. Country?

3. Which aircraft were powered by this engine? (More than one aircraft type answer here, and they were considered successful operational aircraft).

This seemingly absurd detail quiz may be my toughest yet, yet my question's answers will prove the truth in this quiz. Please have at it

1. JUNKERS JUMO 004

2. GERMANY

3. MESSERSCHMITT 262, ARADO 234, HORTEN HO229

Congratulations Rob!

I did not know it also powered the Horten. The major weaknesses of the engine were the high fuel consumption and lack of it's reliability. 35 hours and needed a rebuild? Yet, it was considered Germany's most successful jet engine at that time.
