New album/slideshow function

Hi All,

Here comes a new Album/Slideshow function!

I started it in 2008, then postponded it to work on new aircraft database structure change. After having the idea for almost 2 years, I finally be able to make it real.

Now you can create albums, collections of photos. You can select photos from within our site, put it together based on some kind of topic or theme. Then just sit back and enjoy the slideshows of your albums, and others. Of cause you can choose any topic you want.

I still need to add a few more pages, to list all albums, list albums by member, list latest album additions, etc.

Ok...I must be slow...I see the New Album link...click...and a Create Album window appears...fill in Name, Description, interval and show...click Submit...then what...how does one get photos into the album?

click on

" Add this photo to my Album "

Ken, first of all thank you for the time and effort you put into this site. You have given us. I appreciate the great work and amount of time you spend trying to gett the site operating well.

I like this idea of the slide show and hope it works well.

I have two questions:

Is it intended that the pics in the albums are cuted?

Can you add a link to all albums in the Photo Gallery section?

One more thing:

i can not change the slideshow interval from 0 to ... seconds.

Okay, I must be dense. And I'm certainly not too computer savvy. But I don't see anything by the photo ID that says I can add a photo to an album.

You say to open the photograph - in the member section or out of member section? Opening the photo from the member section - from my aircraft photos - there is no photo ID. If I just log on to A-D and select a photo there is a photo ID in the upper right but there's nothing that says "Add this photo to my Album" below that. Am I missing something here?

First, Log on and create a new album.

After that you do not have to log on to add photos. Click on any photo on the home page... look at the area at the upper right of the photo... Click..

Is it intended that the pics in the albums are cuted?

Yes. To make the slideshow work well, I have to fix it's size. So we have to choose between cut or shrink. Shrink to a different ratio will cause a skewed slide. So cut is the only feasible choice.

Yes that will be done very soon.

The "Add to my album" only show up when a member logged in.

After log in, you should see your username in top-right corner on almost every page, except forum section, even if you open another page (with same browser, IE or firefox, etc), you should still be logged in.

Oh by the way, only albums with at least 2 photos and "Show" status (instead of "Hide") will show up.

Okay, I finally have it. I can't figure out how to stay logged in at the member's page to exit to home page, and the computer I"m using at work doesn't show me logged in on another page at the same time (at home it does, so it must be something with this thing). So I figured out if I'm logged into the forum page, I can go to the home page and stay logged in. AND IT WORKED!!!!!

I can't figure out how to stay logged in at the member's page to exit to home page,

After log in, from any page in member's section, just click the site logo at top-left, it will bring you back to home page without logging you out

For now, you can check home page, it will show a random album slideshow in a smaller version. Clicking on it will bring you to the bigger version.

Thanks Ken, I figured that one out! I've looked at a few already. I've finished my first album - Planes on Sticks.
