Has this site's administration been taken over by a spammer?

I just got a private message claiming that my computer was infected and my account would be closed and my ISP would be notified unless I went to some bogus site to clean my computer. (Which of course would really just INFECT my computer.)

The source of the message was RootModeratorX, who appears to have joined on Thrusday.

I checked to see what was known about the site they were trying to steer me to. Found nothing that clears their name. I recommend checking ALL unknown sites here:

http://safeweb.norton.com/dirtysites

If they haven't been tested by Norton's service, or they have but don't get a 100% clean bill-of-health, don't go there.

This is an repeated problem. I have received several similar private messages. Bogus! They keep changing the source name slightly as they have been blocked before. The topic moderators will block the new culprit. Do NOT click the link in the message.

Yeah, I never fall for that kind of stuff. I just took that opportunity to remind people that there is a free on-line tool that Norton provides so we can check any site we want. I re-installed Windows XP on my laptop mostly to get rid of the problems caused by Norton/Symantec products that cannot be uninstalled even with their tools and assistance, so I'm NOT a fan of their stuff..... except for their free "dirtysites" on-line tool.

I noticed they are targeting private message section this time. I have never sent any mass private messages to our members. And as many members already said, be extra cautious on any links you are not familiar with.
