Learjet N596GA

Hello, my name is James. This is my first post. My Grandfather recently passed. He was a Learjet pilot at one point. I have a photo of him taking off in the plane he flew. The tail number is N596GA. I have tried to search this number to see the where abouts of this plane today. This number keeps coming up as a Gulfstream. I cannot find anything at all on this number being associated with a Learjet. Would anyone have any ideas, or be able to help me find out what ever happened to this plane? There used to be a website that listed historical corporate aircraft registrations but I cannot see to find it now...It is always difficult to find previous registration numbers for private aircraft in the US. Airliners seem to be the exception, I don't know why that is....

Also it I find it interesting that this registration and the current Gulfstream, N596GA, is linked with the "evil" CIA and their "rendition" aircraft.....

Your Lear, model 24XR last registered as XA-RQB before being parted-out /scrapped.

First reg: N3807G

then: N596GA > N596HF > N211HJ > N211BL > N24XR (there was another lear also registered N24XR ) > XA-RQB
