Trying to Contact LtCol (ret.) Klaus-Jochen Rieger-Germany

I received an friendly email request via this site from Klaus-Jochen Rieger, a retired LtCol of the German Air Force and apparent retired Lufthansa airline pilot who is a writer (found elsewhere on the web in a German language book selling site).

He wishes to use some of my Bucker photos for a book he is writing. I have been unable to contact him via his return email address. My email reply to him is rejected (permanent failure) because it was repeatedly blocked by the recipient domain, stating failure code: 553 553 sorry, that domain isn't in my list of allowed rcpthosts (#5.5.3 - chkuser) (state 14)

Contacting with a request to unblock the email so that Herr Rieger can receive my reply has also repeatedly failed, with same message to me. Any help from Germany in contacting Herr Rieger would be appreciated. I do not find him in a Member Search of this site, either. I am at wit's end.

I did a wildcard search for Mr. Rieger on this site and I was unable to locate a username or user with "Rieger" in the title.

You have my email. If you were to send it (the email address) to me perhaps I can use the resources I have here to find the location for you.

I got one of those too and replied with the same result. However, there were two email addresses in the original message and I tried sending to the second one and, although I haven't receive a reply yet, it wasn't rejected. I don't want to list the email address here in case he doesn't want it known publicly, but I suggest you look at your original message and see if there is a second address.

Paul-I used his full (ret.) title and immediately found him on a German language site that had one of his aviation books for sale. (I read and speak Deutscsh, but not completely fluently). I had earlier checked the A-D site for his membership-and nothing came up for his full hyphenated name.

Chris, Your method I understand and made sense. I separated the two email addresses and resent my message to the second de domain for Deutschland (that had automatically come up and attached on the first unsuccessful send).

My just now re-addressed send did not get rejected as before. It is now about 0415 in Germany so I will await response to a more timely part of his day. He sent the email via the A-D site on Friday and I was off the web until early Monday morn, having shot 784 photos at the great CMA Air Show.

From this we get two clues. The email server which supposedly host the email address is running Qmail (an email server software, because I use the same software), and the domain to which the email belongs is no longer on that server anymore.

Doug, Please send me the email adresses via PM, I might be able to dig more.

I got an e-mail from him also in reference to my one Bucker. I also had a problem the first time, but, as noted there were two e-mails and the second one I got a responsed from. if you are still having troubles, I can send you the one that worked for me

The first email was wrong, it was actually on my server. Don't know how that could happen.
