Aircraft N545GW

I Photographed SNJ / Texan N545GW at Oshkosh last week

The serial on the aircraft , and the FAA-records , both make reference to

42-17575 - which Joe Baugher's site lists as a Stearman PT-13D

Any one know why there is that reference quoted ??

Anyone know the North American Aircraft Co. con number for the Texan ??

The aircraft is registered to owners in BURNET , TX

a quick search for 42-17575 Stearman PT-13D produced the following result

Airframe Family: Stearman Kaydet

Latest Model: Boeing PT-13A Kaydet

Last Military Serial: 42-17575 USAAF

Construction Number: 75-05738

Last Civil Registration: N1359N

Latest Owner or Location: Wiplinger Robert, Inver Grove Height, MN

there is a photo of the Texan at

but no reference to a Construction Number

I have seen N545GW recently in Fort Worth....

42-17575 does show to be a PT-13 that crashed at Garner Field, TX in 1945 AND a PT-13 that crashed in Las Vegas in 1945.

Also there is a T-6D that has a CN of 88-17575 and it is flying with the AeroShell team.

I'm thoroughly confused.
