The airport weather report may have been offline briefly for updating when you checked. The same thing happens for an airport ATIS automatic broadcast about ten minutes to the hour, or sooner if a major weather event happens at/near the airport.
Suggest you try http://wunderground.com and key in your zip code for the airport or nearest town of interest. Anchorage, Alaska's newspaper uses Wunderground for its entire full page daily weather report/forecast rather than the info from the U.S. Weather Bureau. That impressed me when I flew in Alaska. Wunderground may even show an airport's videocam in real time on the site 24 hours per day. It does show conditions at KANC. You also get Nexrad radar coverage storm color coded and a week's forecast, plus a lot more from Wunderground.
I have shortcuts to Wundergound on my Home Page and check weather/visibility/temps/etc before going to an airport. The free site was started by a group of Michigan University Professors from weather underground and gets world-wide updates every few minutes from countless reporting stations. Well, maybe not countless, but I forget the number that is most impressive. You can accumulate a list of favorite airports/cities worldwide and have them accessed from your Home Page on www.wunderground.com Have a look
