G-AYAR
Hi All
This is the first time i've posted on this site although i have posted some photos one of which is a rather sad looking PA-28 G-AYAR. Back in the 80's Popham airfield (EGHP) had only one runway 08/26. Llanding on 26 required a slight dog leg just prior to landing to avoid over flying a petrol station you also had to fly through a gap in a line large trees Alpha Romeo did'nt make it or so i was told when i took the photo a couple of months after the accident (accident date 1985/05/09). Recently i've seen an unofficial report that the aircraft ran of the end of the runway into a tree, the right under carraige leg was push up through the wing which would indicate a near vertical drop after hitting the tree proir to landing. Can anyone provide more details or photos of this incident please.
