I see nothing wrong with editing or "Photoshopping" to clean up an image and make it presentable. All photographers should strive to make their shots count...but sometimes the environment and obstacles don't cooperate.
Take this example.
I wanted a shot of this Fed-ex 727. Late in the day, facing the sun, peeking over a fence, etc.
So I climbed one obstacle to shoot over another and didn't worry about the sun...very much.
Colors were off, light is bad and shadows were mean...but it's not going in a magazine. It's simply data.
I left the fence loop over the container to remind me of the original.
