  • Can't add New Aircraft due to error

Since last night I have been getting "temporary servor error" message after I enter new aircraft data. I thought at first it might have been my location but when I tried it from home I got the same message.

I have tried entering data for N407SV Silver Airways ATR-42 twice now and can't.

Interesting!

Both Air History and Airliners.net have this aircraft as an ATR ATR-42-600.

Also their ATR entries have ATR repeated in the model designation.

Malcolm.

p.s I'm not suggesting we amend the more than 1,000 database entries for ATR!

That's interesting when I tried posting it nothing was coming up for it so I assumed there was no profile for it since the aircraft is only a couple years old and I had been making profiles for other commercial airlines just as old or older.

Yes there is a debate on whether it is a 500 or a 600. Airliners.net, jetphotos, planespotters is calling it a 600 while FAA.gov calls it a 500. However FAA also calls all Lear 40, 45, 70 and 75s as Lear 45s too.

OK I was able to add N415RB Citation CJ3 today, so maybe that actually was a "temporary error" that resolved itself. I just remember getting that same message for 6 months though a couple years ago when there was something much bigger going on.

Just an FYI for those interested in sub-types and certifications (ref FAA & EASA )

TCDS No. EASA.A.084

ATR 42-500 ‘600 version’ or ATR-500(600)

(1) ATR 42-500 ‘600 version‘ is the designation to identify ATR 42-500 aircraft

models having received the ATR New Avionic Suite (NAS) modification, also

named as ‘Glass Cockpit‘, and a batch of associated ATR (major & minor) modifications.

ATR 42-600 is the commercial designation of the ATR 42-500 aircraft model

fitted with NAS modification.

ATR-42-600 Close enough for photogs, : and such,

but not official stuff as logbooks, and FAA/EASA complaice. :-)

(same for the -72 series as well)
