That's scary, yet another plane I have pictures of that went down. I think he was scheduled to perform at this weekend's airshow at Titusville too. May they rest in peace

I wouldn't read too much into that. You do have almost 20,000 pictures. I'm sure there is going to be a coincidence or two!

I took a photo of N262MX also, at EAA AirVenture 2008. The type aircraft was rated at +/- 12 gs. To put it in perspective-at plus 12 gs, a 200 pound aviator will weigh 2,400 pounds. The newer MX-5 model, also photographed there-is rated at an astounding +/- 14 gs! Even with g-suits, most hardened, experienced pilots will have physiological trouble/incapacitation past nine gs. (The small General Dynamics/Lockheed Martin military F-16 Fighting Falcon is rated at 9 gs).

The N262MX accident report has no details-unknown circumstances and destroyed by fire with two fatalities. We may never know.

Just as I relogged into this site's Home Page, this topic was still number one on top of the Forum entries AND N262MX in flight was one of the two random aircraft photos shown. What are the odds of that???

5 days later

Was the pilot of N262MX Paul Lopex? The program for Titusville Airshow in Titusville FL said that Paul Lopez would be flying an MX2 at the show. There was no MX2 flying at the show. I have gotten N262MX at Titusville in the past though.

There was no announcement to my knowledge during the show about a crash and the program wasn't edited to take his name out. I thought maybe there would be a missing man formation for him, but there wasn't.

I just discovered I had N106US, which is the US Airways A320 that went down in Hudson River - although it is still in the old black US Airways colors

Yes, the pilot was Paul Lopez.

There;s an article here:

All right, this IS getting scary now:

N789DA had to ditch into Lake Arrowhead in Waleska, GA this afternoon.
