  • Aircraft profile linked with uploaded photographs

Today I created a database entry for PZ865 prior to uploading a photograph of this Hurricane IIC of the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight. To my surprise, creation brought up three photographs taken by Ian Woodcock of this aircraft.

I had beforehand searched the site and found nothing registered against this aircraft and this has now occurred several times when I have created profiles.

This is not the first occasion I have experienced this and I ask how do I determine the position before adding a profile to the database?

Best regards.

Peter

If you look for the tail number and it doesn't come up (which is what happens usually when I put in a military serial or BuNo), then do the profile. There may be photos of that aircraft taken by people who never did a profile, and when you do the profile the photos will come up to join it. I've had that happen lots of times. For example, I did almost all the profiles for the Air Force Museum aircraft, and as they popped up Daniel Compton's shots would join mine. Some of the planes were also shot by other people so suddendly we'd have a few photos come together under a profile.

Glenn got the right answer so I will skip mine.

Thanks, Gentlemen, I will continue creating profiles whenever I wish to upload a photograph of a hitherto unregistered aircraft.

It is great to see the forum providing answers to these little issues we experience - thank again.
