What happened? That's the bird Dick Hansen owned at DPA
It is currently listed as owned by a corporation in Delaware.
There are several stories on the web. One is at the following URL.

I'm sorry I confused you. I was just saying I knew that bird when it was first restored about 15 years ago and owned by Dick Hansen then, who was president of the Furnas Electric Company. He also had a BE17, a BE18 (I think he still owns that one), a T-6 and a PT-17. Sometime in the mid -1990s he also had an F4F restored and owned it for a while. Real nice guy, too. Sad to see all that work lost forever, sadder still that someone died with it. I was just wondering what was the cause of the accident.
Chris, I believe the address in Delaware is that of the aviation attorney who incorporated the aircraft for the aircraft's owner. Aircraft owners will incorporate their aircraft for liability reasons. The only corporate asset is the aircraft, and the aircraft owner is financially insulated because of the incorporation. Many aircraft owners do just that if smart. It just makes sense to incorporate the aircraft as an aircraft accident can be exceedingly costly in terms of loss and liability. Several aircraft at SZP that I ride in are incorporated, and Delaware's corporate law makes it a favorable place to incorporate an airplane.
Isn't this the plane that used to fly with a P-51D - I believe the father flew one plane and the son flew the other together on the airshow circuit
Yes this is that team.
The son was there and saw this happen.
Very Sad.
