I have notified airport-data admin of the current problem we are having with spam.

It looks like 4 users are causing a bit of problems.

I am removing the messages, but it appears that they are adding them about as fast as I can remove them.

Hopefully we can get this taken care of soon.

I have deleted all 4 user accounts mentioned above. I need to find a way to fight this.

I might suggest some sort of e-mail verification thing for forum user accounts. All of the other forums that I have visited have some sort of semi automated system that requires a e-mail response prior to being able to post. I don't know how it all works but it should be workable...some how.

I opened up the forum page last night and immediately got a response from my anti virus software that I have not been able to clear. In fact my machine would not even start in normal mode today...grrr...it's dead for now....double grrr....

Sorry to hear that.

We do have a email-activate procedure in place for new registrations. We even have a customized (e.g. I made my own) Captcha (the visual confirmation picture) on registration page. But these just cannot stop them.

I just added a new tool to fight this, a module called Spam Words. It will detect whatever spam words we listed (in Admin panel). If found, the message will be rejected. Though the spam list does NOT apply to our active members.

Still need to test the new function.
