I just learned this week that shots I posted which I took in 2008 of an OH-58A http://www.airport-data.com/aircraft/68-16864.html led to a reunion of the aircraft and the pilot who flew it in Vietnam over 40 years ago. This just goes to show the value of this site for so many purposes.
A couple years ago I was contacted by a guy who saw my shot of F-104G http://www.airport-data.com/aircraft/63-13243.html, and e-mailed me to say how good it was to see that photo because he was the one who flew it to that air show. Last year I was contacted by a pilot in the Polish Air Force about a C-130 I photographed in the early 1970s which is now with them, having been refurbished.
I've had lots more stuff like that, and I'm sure many photographers here have had similar experiences. This is a great site! And to think, 4 1/2 years ago I found it because I was looking for information on a Windecker Eagle, N4198G because I had taken a photo of it in 1982!
