Sadly, The only flying Vulcan is about to be grounded due to lack of funds. Unless a further £185,257 can be found by the end of the Month. The Vulcan to the Sky Trust will be forced to go into liquidation. Meaning that we will no longer be able to see this magnificent Aeroplane in the sky where she belongs.

If anyone has a few spare ££££'s then visit http://www.vulcantothesky.org/

Having donated a LOT of money to the Vulcan to the Sky Trust over the last few years, then hearing the same story every year

"Vulcan to be grounded due to lack of funds"

some of the shortfall in funds is being blamed on "poor weather that stopped her flying at several profitable events this year". The events that were cancelled were over ONE weekend, the 21st/22nd August

One of the events that was cancelled due to poor weather was the Sywell airshow on the 22nd August, as I was at this event I can testify that for most of the day there was not a cloud in sight and was one of the hottest days of the year

It would be sad if we lost this iconic aircraft from our skies, but I am getting bored with the begging bowl coming out every year with this threat.

personally, I think it is time for Dr Pleming and the rest of the mismanagement team to resign from VTTS and let someone esle take over so we dont have this fiasco every year.

Chris.

Your comments reflect those of a great many others. Sad to say that I agree with most of what you said.

But Sywell was cancelled, not because of the weather there, but because of poor conditions at Bournemouth where she was at the time, and restrictions on the Aircraft mean that she can only fly VFR
