In the, "Oh it would be nice" category;

It would be nice to have a search feature that would locate the pictures taken at a particular airport. I'm looking for something like what is available in the member section. I can search my own photos for an airport code, but I'd like to search everybody's aircraft photos for a given airport code.

Hi Timothy,

Thanks a lot for the suggestion.

The search function you mentioned is not hard to build, the problem is if you search for a large popular airport, you will get thousands of photos, which will make it very hard to find any useful information.

As of now (Nov 30, 2006, 10 EST), our database shows a total of 52,606 photos, taken in 2,649 different airports, top 10 airports are:

no-airport-info 4460

PDK 3472

SZP 3279

LAX 1429

CGN 1381

KRK 1170

KLAS 1156

VIE 1094

MAN 1084

BOH 1078

Also LAS has 348 photos, should be added to KLAS, make a total of 1504.

Yeah, I suspected there would be issues with popular airports. The reason I thought it would be interesting occurs when you notice somebody has submitted a photo from a particular airport, it makes me wonder what else did they see at that airport?

For example, what did else did "Mark Pasqualino" see when he was at "FCM" on "2006-11-22". (FCM is Minneapolis Flying Cloud, only 20 miles away from my home.)

www.landings.com deals with the problem by limiting the search to 100 matches, and also allows you to specify the starting point.
