N2612
I have just found this site, l was looking for photographs of SRJR's. I have owned this aircraft since September 1989. I bought it out of Chino Airport, CA and shipped it back to Henstridge Airfield, UK. I am suprised to find that it's registration has been canceled and my IA is now going to try to reinstate it. I bought it, as a project - in boxes as they say, with the intention of total resoration. It had suffered a 'nose over' and among the damage was bent wing struts. The extrusions are still produced by a well known company, as they are the same as the cabain struts for the Stearman, which they cut at 6 ft. lengths off the prodution line. I have tried and a good friend in US has tried to get them to just interupt a cut to give 12 ft lengths. I need just 11ft and a few inches ( can't remember exactly ) and they will not do it. This has held the whole job up and unless I can ( or someone out there can ) find some servicable struts or persuade the manufacturers to supply I fear this lovely aircraft is doomed
