NC-17190
Watching an old 1938 movie called "Sky Giant" I was trying to identify the aircraft type through their registration numbers. One high wing plane's number kept escaping the eye of the camera, but it had unusual fairings on its engine cowling. I was rewatching it and noticed that the full number was on the bottom port side wing, but it was split up by close-ups of the actors standing underneath: 17190. Of course preceding the number would be "NC" and I looked it up on the Golden Age Civil Aircraft Register site which identified it as a Stinson SR-9B. An article on this web site of a similar type confirmed the plane's look and I thought it interesting that this particular plane featured here was built a little bit before this tale number, so I decided to add to this database.
