  • What does " ++ " mean ? (airport OPR HR)

Hi all,

there is still something a didn't manage to understand until now, regarding airport hours (operating hours, fuel servicing, etc.). This forced my registration to airport-data... ;)

I don't understand the "plus-plus" behind the zulu-formated hours. For example, operating hours for SZG are "0400-2200Z++". I've read Wikipedia page related to ISO 8601, asked google, there no information explaining the meaning of these both "plus". I guess this is related to DST (maybe not?)

Your knowledge welcome!

Well...

more than 200 views of this topic so far... No idea?

Thanks!

1. The ++ SYMBOL which follows operating times indicates that, during periods of daylight saving time, effective hours will be one hour earlier than shown.

2. The Absence of: (-3DT) or (+5DT) examples and/or ++ indicates daylight saving time is not observed.

Hope this helps decipher listings. :)

Hi John,

thanks for your reply; that makes sense.

However, I'm a bit surprised in the fact that these opening hours (of other airport hours, as fuel service) are not expressed in local time, as by definition, local time is driven by DST changes.

Thanks again!
