The title says it all. When uploading any new airport photos, there is no longer an option near the airport home page photos to click for a large version of the airport photo once the thumb has been brought up. Large versions may be necessary for reading hangar numbers, phone numbers or other airport signs. I recently uploaded a new airport photo that needs the large version for greater legibility and found the large option no longer exists in the remodeled site. Please restore it. Scrolling, if then necessary, should be no problem with new airport photos as it works for seeing large aircraft photos. See AP30588 in SZP for example. Thank you.
What Happened to the Large Version Option on Airport Photos?
Hi Doug,
I uploaded a couple of airport photos today (Jan 17) and could view a large version. The screenprint below is cropped.
Peter.
Doug,
The large photo/small photo is determined/calculated by photo width. If a photo's width is larger than 800, a large version will be generated. In your case the photo is in portrait layout, it's width is not large enough.
Ken
Ken,
Without first reading your reply, I figured perhaps the photo was too tall and edited it both for width and height. Still did not get a large option so will leave it as such. I had looked at my AP149 photo which was far larger in height and that has the large option, so was confused by my inability to get the large option. Not knowing that photo width is the determiner, I will keep that in mind for the future. I can't undo my editing to bring back the width this time.
Meanwhile, pilots first visiting SZP can read the airport entry procedures in AOPA Airports 2013/14 version on page 3-17 or earlier year versions, or in other USA Airports Handbooks.
