When a photo is uploaded to the database, the image is adjusted in size for display. However, this does not happen to images on the forums. Consequently, you can only view a quarter or less of a large image, even on a large monitor (I have a 22 inch monitor). In addition, they take up too much bandwidth, and depending on connection speed, are slow to download.
An image 3264 x 2448 is a file size of 1.66 MB. Reducing this to 1600 x 1200 reduces the file size to 907 KB and 1024 x 768 is 381 KB (with maximum definition set on the file save).
As an example, this photo of mine is 1024 x 768 (my preferred size) shows that it is large enough for attachment to a thread. Your thoughts?
Regards,
Peter.
