This was the second plane I flew right after my first introductory flight on a Piper Tomahawk. I was a teenager then and glad to see this bird who I flew for over 20 hours is still out there in service. She was stationed then at MacArthur airport, Long Island, New York. It's funny how each plane has their own signature feel, even within the same class. This bird was typical of the Piper Cherokee series: stable, reliable, and smooth on the controls. She is more forgiving than say a Cessna 172, which keeps you more active, but I cannot help look at this old girl with nostalgia, not unlike that first girl who made her impression on you--even if she wasn't your first. May she have many more years ahead of her and others look back with similar fond memories.
