I only shoot photos of planes in the air. Is it OK to post multiple photos of one aircraft if they are different views? How about different dates? I believe the answer is "No." So I began going through my 260 photos deleting similar photos taken months or years apart but then I stopped. As I said, these are only of airborne planes and it was a lot of work to run outside the house(with my big heavy 600 mm f/4 lens) every time a plane flew over so I thought I better check just to make sure deleting such images is the proper thing to do.

Great site. Thanks.

Hi Lee,

I think you will find that most photographers have multiple images of the one aircraft in their portfolios. Take DC3 N60154 for example. There are 19 photos of this aircraft, posted by 5 photographers.

Thank you Peter.

On a similar topic, sometimes my pictures, after cropping, get to be below the minimum size. But, I reason, if there are no photographs of this particular aircraft at all, a bad picture is better than none so I go ahead and post it anyway. Does that sound unreasonable?

In that regard, it would be nice if the interface told you how many photos of the subjecgt aircraft already exist on the site as you fill out the form. But that is merely an example of the third law of computer programming which is, "Any program, when running, is obsolete."

Thanks again,

Lee

Yes, that was helpful. Thanks again.
