Hi All,

This site has been moved to a new service provider. It's installed on a new server, so there might be some glitches. If you spot any issue, please reply to this thread.

On behalf of the admin team, we thank all for your continuous support,

Ken

Not sure if this has anything to do with it. For some reason it is not recognizing N7861 or NC7861 that is already in the system since Glenn Chatfield has it entered and has pictures of it - the Navy RR Ford Trimotor at the Navy Aviation Museum. I tried entering it both as N7861 and NC7861. It isn't giving me the option of entering it in the database either.

I cannot look it up via the registration / tail mark search either ?

N7861 / NC7861

but it's here; http://www.airport-data.com/aircraft/NC7861.html

Can only find it by searching: FORD or by c/n 4-AT-46 in the proper boxes.

I also tried to enter the ID via the new-photo REG box, on members page, but it's not working, here either..

.... strange

John

As most of you may already know, NC7861 is in an expired format, it should be N7861.

The search program changes old registration like NC, NX, etc to its N equivelant automatically, so you are actually searching N7861. However in aircraft registry database, the aircraft is registered as NC7861, so you won't get any result.

I'd like to hear your opinion on how to fix this, either change aircraft NC7861 to N7861, or change search program, get rid of the auto-converting.

Ken

As our FAA has some operational rules regarding retaining/assigning registrations such as NC, NR and NL, perhaps you should do the same with an Administration note to try these other N prefix possibilities, or just N----- in a specific aircraft search. I have found them successfully in the past in searching for these registered aircraft, but usually drop the added prefix when uploading such registered aircraft, especially the old NCs, which (should) depend on exact originality of airframe/engine, etc.

Also, the FAA does make some mistakes; accepting registrant's questionable inputs. A "Waco" bipe comes to mind which is actually a late recreation, not the 1930s original manufacture as registered. There apparently is money to be made through fraudulent paperwork.

I changed NC7861 to N7861, but added NC7861 back as an alternative code. Thus you'll find it by searching either registry.

I have been trying to post some new pics using the workshop. All images uploaded fine but when I try to tag them either the left side only of the form loads or nothing at all. Please asdvise......

The left hand "icon" in Workshop shows only as a small square and it is not possible to upload images.

Also, in Admin Tools, Photos without Profile does not open, showing only the message "Server had a temporary error. Please try again later".

Malcolm.

Could you provide an example?

I will look into the workshop issue ASAP.

Thanks,

Ken

There's little I can add.

The page for "Photos without Profile" opens (apologies!) but the page is completely blank except for the message "Server had a temporary error. Please try again later." which appears in red type in the centre immediately below the top margin.

The workshop page has now returned to normal - it is now possible to upload images.
