N198GT

Hi All

The airframe photographed at Inyokern is NOT HS.125-700A NA0288 (257123). This is an earlier series HS.125 Painted in the same colours as NA0288 - the giveaway is the fairing above the cockpit, the 5 windows as opposed to 6 on a series 700 machine, and the engine pods which are not Garrett TFE-731's but more likely Viper 522's.

So this airframe is a mystery unless someone can get aboard and look at the data plate (usually immediately in front of you as you enter the aircraft on the bulkhead next to the baggage storage rack).

Cheers

JD

The Inyokern hawker, is still an unknown ID

Suggest Photos ID: AC829659, AC678488, AC644023 be moved to the 'unknown ID' group...

John/JD.

I have deleted the false profile.

AC829659 & AC678488 are now listed as UNKNOWN.

AC644023 looks to be the genuine article with six cabin windows and without the cockpit roof addition and I have included it with the genuine N198GT.

Malcolm.

Thanks Guys - tricky one this

Any spotters on the board who may have logs of a 125-400 prior to painting up in the false colours perhaps?

Thanks for the quick edit, Malcolm.

I've been searching logs, notes, slide collection, publications. So far I've got zilch :?

The movie prop reference, pertains to the the Mel Gibson film "Ransom" circa 1996. Haven't seen it of late, so I'm not positive that it's in the movie.

The hunt goes on....
