The TSA is at it again...this is bad for aviation. This is bad for airport access. This is bad for Warbirds, Freighters, Air tankers, Corporate aircraft...etc.
Any aircraft over 12,000lbs is to be required to have airline type security...passenger watch lists, aircrew check and registrations...etc.
Any Airport that serves aircraft over 12,000lbs will be required airline type security measures in place....
So a Grumman TBM (MTOW 17,500) or P-51 (MTOW 12,100) and Certainly a DC_3 ...operating from your grass strip in Bugtussle, TX will have the same requirements as American 777 flight form DFW to LAX...
Contact your reps and let them know this is wrong....( In my opinion...)
