A post by Glenn E. Chatfield in "Aviation Photogrphy" led me to a program bug in aircraft data add/correct function. Because of the bug, all recent submitted aircraft data additions and corrections are lost. Visitors who submitted data still get same response (data will be reviewed) but actually nothing are stored in database.

We sincerely apologize to those whose submitted data got lost.

I was noticing some weird stuff too - I have been posting a lot of pictures from NBAA 2008 and there were a ton of biz jets that said that the registration was not found, or coming up as a totally different type of aircraft. I was just thinking that the FAA hasn't caught up with a ton of new registrations, but maybe this is part of the problem.

Ken,

While you're looking into things. It seems like the US Registry isn't getting updated. When I was posting my EAA Airventure photos I would often run into registration numbers that weren't correctly listed here at A-D, but www.faa.gov was up-to-date, and so was www.landings.com's listings. I reailize the the FAA data should be the most current.

What is the update schedule for US registrations? Is the update process automated so it doesn't require manual intervention by you?

Thanks for reporting the bug.

US registrations suppose to be updated automatically on a weekly basis (every Tuesday morning). There was a bug caused by server migration about 6 months ago, but I fixed it a few weeks ago.

I will check again to see if there's any problem with the update code.

Yes there's some problem in underlying database used to import data. It's been fixed.

Let me know if there's bug still exist.

Thanks,

Ken
