I just noted in an effort to answer an unrelated email request about an aircraft I had photographed that cumulative viewer counts are now under each photo in the section below the photo captions. This is a superb feature. I note that my four photos of N240R, Steve Fossett's last ride have a cumulative count as I write this of 25,881 views. This also shows in effect which photo of several is the "most popular."

Ken, my question is this-Is the count from the beginning of the website or was the feature more recently inaugurated? In any event, it is a great new feature

The cumulative view count is a great feature and addition and confirms my belief that this site with its great format can be the premier "reference library" for aircraft information on the net........hope its sunny where you all are because it isnt in Seattle!!!!

Cheers

Nick

Cumulative viewer counts! This is great! Thank you!

This is great. Is there some sort of mechanism that adds up the total count for all pictures. Not sure how that is done or how hard it would be to do. I was curious since they have a thing that totals all pictures views up on airliners.net and myaviation.net

Daniel, If you mean the total number of aircraft photos and the total number of airport photos on this site-that has been a feature from day one of the site. Look at the photo file name after you upload a photo-my last aircraft photo uploaded of N714HH was number 244,609, for example, incorporated in the photo file name. That was the aircraft photo total as of that upload.

You will find the count similarly for the total airport photo count as you upload an airport photo in the Member Section.

Total count for all picture views? Not yet a feature and probably would have had to have been incorporated from the site start.

To Doug,

The viewer count is from near begining of this site. I made this feature shortly after the site launched, but didn't want to show it out, until a few members requested it recently.

To Daniel,

If what you mean is total views of photos from a photographer, that's not hard at all. Just a small code to add up all viewer counts will do.

Comments are always welcome.
