C-GSPR

I think that this might be the Varieze that my wife and I built in 1978-80. The serial number matches my plans number. We had it complete except for the engine cowl and final paint job. Then, we were assigned to RAF Lakenheath, England, for a 3-year assignment. We sold it before leaving. We had a Revmaster 2100 engine on it, but sold the engine and airframe separately.

According to FAA records, the buyer never finished it, but sold it a year later to someone who did finish it. A few years ago, the registration was cancelled with a note that the aircraft was moved to Canada. I found a photo that shows it painted yellow.

I would love to find it and talk to the owner. If it's still flying, it would be great to get a ride.

Not sure I agree with the choice to paint it yellow, but alright. At least it's in the flying condition. What a piece of history that plane is.
