Sadly, this Cirrus VK-30, the first one completed in 1999 of 34 kits sold, crashed yesterday with loss of all aboard. The plane went down late yesterday morning about 40 miles north of downtown Los Angeles in a mountainous area near Agua Dulce adjacent a dirt road. Four were confirmed dead. An aerial photo shows the plane broken apart in three major sections on the dry brushy ground. N52TH, built with a Continental IO-550, was a frequent visitor to SZP and CMA, and I have many photos of the aircraft in better days. The FAA and NTSB will do investigations. The aircraft struck power lines. RIP, Tom and the others.
