  • Adding Copyright By to Articles?

Ken, I am getting weekly requests in multiples from aircraft owners, former owners, other specialized single aircraft dedicated model sites and others wishing to use my photos and information. I have always cooperated immediately to valid requests.

I believe the Articles section should also have Copyright By- attached to each article as well for the authors' protection. Can that be readily done? Each article would need the Copyright By caption attached to the article to be valid. Some of the friendly and helpful information supplied to me in turn has led to article revisions from the welcome additions with permissions, especially from familial-link inputs to a particular aircraft design history. The AG-14 article, for example, has so benefited.

One thing these email requests to me show is the huge popularity of your fine site worldwide.

That's not a problem at all. We are currently display "By " under article title. We can simply change it to "Copyright by ", or add a copyright statement at end of article. Which way do you think is better?

Thank you, Ken.

It would get a viewer's immediate attention if room on the title line which is now space-limited. That would be my choice.

BTW, I am still finding more photos of N240R on web sites. RCGroups.com is the latest one I have gone after re use without permission. An uploader there did not remove the title line; but still no permission was granted. In these cases, I also ask that the uploader's URL be banned from the site because of the theft. Am still having problems with FlightAware-another different photo found.

Doug

I too find it difficult to deal with FlightAware. Despite of my repeated email requests with evidences clearly outlined, they did very little.

So I will change "by Doug Robertson" to something like "Copyright 2008, Doug Robertson"?
