  • Saw a Spaceship today! Really!

Today at Carswell - NASJRB Ft. Worth

The Shuttle Endeavour and the Shuttle Carrier Aircraft stayed overnight in Fort Worth last night. The departed @ 11 this morning Bound for Barksdale AFB in Louisiana...they flew through Houston??? Made a low pass at Ellington Field and a flyby at JSC.

Great day for aeroplane picture taking!

You'll get a better picture than I will. There is nowhere close at Kennedy Space Center to get pictures of it coming in that are open to the Public. I got the Endeavor taking off from 50 miles away in the dark, but just looks like a bright orange blob on my camera.

I am assuming Merrit Island Black Point Wild Life Trail is closed. I go there to take pictures of birds a lot, its only about 1-2 miles from the threshold of the Shuttle Landing Runway, but it would be closed with the Shuttle being anywhere near.

24 days later

WOW!!! That is awesome! Since I have been a kid, I have had a huge obsession with all things space, and have wanted to see the Space Ship and space ship hauler up close and personal, this may be as close as I will get..

Thank you very much for posting those absolutely wonderful pictures.

Your fellow airplane spotter thanks you very much. :)

Also...I have a little tidbit for you, which, you may or may not know, and I am sure its a fact you do not know as not much people do....Anyway, the airport that I work at (in Canada) , has been designated as an emergency landing point for the Shuttle during re-entry if it cannot arrive safely at its other landing areas.
