Hey Ken, check out the forum post on "X-28A" - the last poster put on a long advertisement with links, which has nothing to do with aviation.

Glenn, I just opened a Support Ticket re the problem-I found three unrelated blogs by the same person. There is another miscreant, also, writing lengthy meaningless blogs who has inserted web links. I recommend NO ONE CLICK ON ANY OF THESE LINKS!
Some people are just plain evil!
Under Events topic- there is another lengthy, meaningless blogger replying? to my 2009 California Airshow forum entry-user name Iuyi00882 and I recommend no one click on the web links by that blogger Iuyioo882. I believe that person has another rambling blog in another thread, also.
I sent Ken a PM a few days ago when I noticed this stuff...he must be out of town.
We are never lack of boring people. :( The spam posts have been deleted. Thanks all for the heads-up.
Ken
It wasn't so much an advertisement as it was an attempt to boost the site's ranking in search engines by creating as many unique links to the site as possible. The better search engines aren't fooled by such nonsense, but that doesn't stop SEO (Search Engine Optimization) companies from charging fools money for something that doesn't work anyway.
I was trying to report the posts when I saw them, but this site doesn't have a "report this post" link that most forums do.
Ken, one of those rambling, meaningless off-topic blogs is still in the Events Forum under my 2009 California Airshows/Events entry. Shouldn't the Topic moderators be active in this?

These spams are all over the place today. I went through lots of forum posts and almost everything with a date of March has a spam!
Ken, you poor guy, how do we keep this junk out?!?!?!?
nikecon hit the site rather hard.
Spam on a forum is somewhat preventable if the permission to post has a requirement of responding to an e-mail sent to a provided address or upon approval from an administrator.
It has to be changed soon or the forum will be nothing but spam.
Instant access is wonderful until the spam jerks find you....then it is relentless.
ZKen,
I am in the site about 3 times each day... give or take.
I would be happy to assist or "Mod" some of these if you want.
(delete any spam...only spam from the forums as they pop up).
Let me know if I can be of some help, or if there is some type of vetting process I need to go through.
Best Regards,
