Flight reservations, questions or information: 800-568-8924 or www.cfdn.org

Photo ops are available. I attended last year and the aircraft were well worth it. The event may attract some interesting and contrasting fly-ins-last year a deHavilland Tiger Moth from SZP.

Yes get out and see these guys where ever they may be!

They were the only ones in Colorado who flew the B17 directly overhead the staging area for some great shots from below.

Zane & Paul, Thanks for the fine photos.

Paul-suggest you edit for name, nearest city location of airport where the Wings of Freedom Tours will be in Colorado-not all Forum readers can readily decipher the ICAO abbreviations. Too many to memorize all worldwide.

Doug,

Thanks for your comments on the photos.

You are 100% right. I have amended the post to include the nearest City/State

Thanks!

This is cool!

Dan Daru has covered a few of the B-17 events in the past, and has done a great job!!!

Just keep him away from the bottom Ball Turret! (see attached video link)

The door of the Ball Turret hitting the ground... oh boy...

Nice day today. Good weather at Ft. Collins-Loveland (FNL).

Wished I could have made it to Broomfield Colorado (KBJC) but it has been a busy work week.

Did get some good shots, and got to talk to a local warbird pilot.

Bluedharma, awesome shots of the ol' birds. I'm one of the stop organizers for Valparaiso, IN and can't wait for them to arrive in a few weeks.

Warbirdguy,

Thank you for your comments!

These shows are quite the "HOT Ticket".

#4 on B-24

Make sure you post some shots when they get there.

Love to see your photos!

god damn dude, you must have a hell of a camera lense, i'm assuming you were there today (friday 4 jul) and i was wonderin if you perhaps saw or talked to the bald guy with the glasses, P-51 shirt, and jean shorts or not....lemme know, also, would it be too much trouble to get you to email the photos you took? tony.day82@gmail.com

...saw or talked to the bald guy with the glasses, P-51 shirt, and jean shorts or not...

My friend (and airport-data.com user John) and I mostly just took pictures

and we spoke with a local Spitfire pilot here in the Colorado area.

He got to ride in the mustang yesterday on the flight to KFNL (Fort-Collins,Colorado) from Broomfield, Colorado.

He really enjoyed it!

... would it be too much trouble to get you to email the photos you took?

No problem at all. I will try to send them your way.

Best Regards,

cool, thank you, we will be there till monday morning, so there will be many more great photo ops, just fyi

btw, my email address is "tony.day82@gmail.com"

Warbirdguy,

I am very glad you have the newspapers and TV on this.

What I don't understand is why something as fun and enjoyable as this is done during the work week.

This must make it very difficult for you to arrange for the largest number of fans.

Your event is July 21-23, 2008 (Monday through Wednesday).

I don't really understand why The Collins Foundation does the events during a work week.

I wish they would hold the event through a weekend.

They did the same thing when out in the Denver area.

(They did have it on Sat-Sun up in Fort-Collins Colorado, but it would have been nice if it was on a weekend in the Denver metro area.)

That would provide them more revenue.

Here is what $2,200 for 30 Minutes buys! Looks worth it!!!!

Blueharma,

The visit last year was very successfull for it being a weekday.

We had 13 flight experiences last year (1 was a training experience in the B-25).

The B-17 had 6 flights, the B-24 had 4 flights, and the B-25 had 3 flights. The B-25 had many more flights scheduled but they were having problems with the hydraulic activator on the landing gear.

Walkthrough tours and PX sales were brisk during the stay. We even ran out of some PX items.

Luckily this year as did last year it falls during the county fair which is only a mile down the road. Hopefully that will attract many visitors.

actually, paul, to correct you, it wasn't anything hydrolic that broke the b25 last year, it was a magnito that broke, and the B-24 had alot of flights cancelled as well, due to a flat nose gear. btw, AWESOME picture of the P51
