TNutty,
I'm referring to the Valparaiso, IN stop in 2007.
TNutty,
I'm referring to the Valparaiso, IN stop in 2007.
actually, paul, to correct you, it wasn't anything hydrolic that broke the b25 last year,it was a magnito that broke, and the B-24 had alot of flights cancelled as well, due to a flat nose gear. btw, AWESOME picture of the P51
I was wondering why it didn't fly last year.
but I think warbirdguy is right. He was talking about Valparaiso, not Fort Collins.
I was ok with last years display.
My only issue this year was:
I wish I could have seen them in Broomfield, Colorado. I just could not get off of work. "work week"
I know of one other warbird fan that missed the
Broomfield stop as well.
ack, my bad bro, i read that RIGHT after i got home from work, so i was still kinda.....yeah, sorry warbird lol
No Problem!

Bluedharma, just wanted to let you know, just in case you get the news letter as well, one of your pictures was used in the news letter for the denver/jeffco stop this last year, but i was given credit for taking it. i have spoken to Hunter Cheney at the foundation to let him know of this. if you could email me with your full name, and City/State, i will pass that along to Hunter so he can do.....whatever it is that he wants to do to get the credit redirected to the correct person. my email address is tony.day82@gmail.com. hope to hear from you soon
Tony,
Thanks for your message!!!
I have sent an email to you.
I also wanted to thank you for letting me know about the event. It was great to be there this year.
Always a joy to see the aircraft fly!
I have been able to put together a small schedule for the 2009 season. I hope that there will be lots to see this next year.

The Wings of Freedom Tour 2008 of a Boeing B-17 Flying Fortress, a North American B-25 Mitchell and a Consolidated B-24 Liberator will be at Camarillo, California airport CMA from 12 through 14 May, 2008. They will be joined by a North American P-51 Mustang. All are available for paid walk-through tours or 30 minute flights. The bomber flights are tax deductible donations. The P-51 is dual control for $2,200 for a half hour or $3,200 for a full hour, non-deductible. Enter the ramp through the Waypoint Cafe, 325 Durley.Flight reservations, questions or information: 800-568-8924 or www.cfdn.org
Photo ops are available. I attended last year and the aircraft were well worth it. The event may attract some interesting and contrasting fly-ins-last year a deHavilland Tiger Moth from SZP.
They are currently down here. Collings Foundation winters in New Smyrna Beach every winter where they do some maintenance on the bombers at Baker Aviation. They usually fly around to different Florida airports on tour giving rides during the winter.
They will be at my home port KGKY April 1& 2 and then they will spend the week in Dallas.
Woot!

No problem about the pic.
I will send on what I get this year... and all post some on this site for all to see.
TNutty, I can send you copies too... it really wasn't a problem for me. As long as people enjoy seeing the aircraft!
I always enjoy seeing the B-17s!
Can't wait!
Best Regards,
well, there will only be 1 b-17, but this year it will ONLY be the b-17, b-24, and p-51, the 25 is doing some other stuff, and the ME-262 has not had all the bugs (mechanical AND legal) worked out of it yet
TNutty: Still would love to see them all.
Is there going to be a press day for these events?
I will be happy to pay the "fee" to see the aircraft, but I would love to get some shots without all the people in the picture.
Oh I love the shots with the kids and the B-17, but is there a "slow" day where I can get some shots without 50+ people around it?
Last year there was lots of people at the event.
I will miss the B-25!
Thanks again for the update!!!
i'll tell you what, email me tony.day82@gmail.com with your phone number, i'm sure i'll be able to get you in EARLY in the morning just as the crew is getting there so you can take some shots of just the planes. if you have nextel, 100*854484*5
Very awesome!
Thanks! Will try to give you a call in the near future!
Best Regards,
-Paul
CF is again returning to KVPZ on July 27-29. Also, this stop occurs during Oshkosh so you never know what'll show up. Last year we had a group of T-6's come in and the year before we had a group of RV-4's.
Our local EAA chapter will have food & beverages available as well. A wonderful opportunity to support 2 great organizations.
hey all, just wanted to let ya'll know, there will be a live plug on 106.7 KBPI sometime after 530 PM Tuesday (tomorrow) about the CF being in broomfield CO this week if anyone is interested. hope to see some of you locals out there
